i have a 73 jd 544a loader. i have used it during the summer around the shop no problems. in the winter i use it for snow removal. my question is, is it possible that over cranking the engine to start it when the temps are below 15 deg without using the hot shot can cause f/o dilution of the crankcase? or should the hot shot can be used always when starting in cold weather? somehow i got a crankcase full of diesel fuel mixed with the oil. since the fuel system is external i dont see how else the fuel would get in there other than injector drip. but i have noticed the guys just cranking and cranking it without using the start aide. any input would be appreciated.
