Jcb skid steer

Hey everyone... Im not a common poster on this side of the forum, but I think this thread is best posted here. Last December we purchased a new skid steer. For now I will leave out where, and what brand name, I really dont want to start the "Well thats what you get for buying that machine VS this machine.

The problem is this, is has a little over 200 hrs on it. It has been back the the dealer (an hour and 15 mins away) about 7 times. It has blown various hydraulic lines on job sites, spewing 12 gallons of hydro fluid over customer yards and driveways about 4 times. Had to either sit and wait for the parts to be flown into the dealer and fixed on site, or had to be towed away. Last week it actually died in the middle of an innersection on a road, do to some electrical failure. The police actually had a backhow up the street and drugged it (is that a word?) to the side of the road. It was about 3 hours until the machine was picked up.

So my question is where do I stand with this machine? If there was no problems, the dealer would never hear from me. I purchased this expensive, new piece of equipment so I would not have down time from breakdowns of a used machine. Yet I have had multiple with only 200 hours on the machine. The dealer told me the first couple times that with a new machine its "Common for the machine to work out its kinks from manufacturing" Well I think I should be well past that point. The dealer has accomodated me. They have given me a machine to use the last two times it has broken down, but I still feel something needs to be done with the machine.

I guess what im asking from you guys, is your opinion or experiences with this. I hope I dont get to many "Man if that was my machine I would be in his office holding him up by the neck until I get a new machine". I would probably say that also if it was someone else's problem but its not practical/professional. I checked into lemon law in PA and it doesnt cover machinery, only automobiles. So far the sales man said he would talk to the manufacturer but I have heard anything yet.

case 821b transmission problems

When the shiftl lever is moved to foreward, the transmission shifts into reverse. When the shift lever is moved to reverse the transmission shifts into foreward.
There is no 1 or 2 only 3 and 4 th gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Got called out on a 980H JMS21?? when transmission gets hot it does not want to shift into reverse sometimes. Checked codes with ET, no transmission codes, checked transmission pressures all at same time, solenoids were not sticking. Going back in the morning to cut filter, check screen, drain oil. Any ideas?

John Deere 444K Quick Connect Pins Seized

Hey guys, we have a fairly new John Deere 444k at my work and after working all summer with the bucket on winter is now sneaking up rather quickly and we are attaching all the plow blades however the quick connect pins will not release. We have been shaking, banging and rattling the bucket around for a week now with no results. We tried oiling, heating and smashing them with sledge hammers. The next step will be to attach a porta power to the lines and try to force it open that way. Just wondering if anyone has run into this before and what you did to fix it, any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!

821B Trans Oil - no low oil warning?

My 821B sprang a tranny leak while running parked during a cold snap, when I got in to move it the systems lights were all green (none of which actually monitor the trans) but it did not want to move very fast. When I checked out why I discovered it had been dumping out oil that was dissappearing into the falling snow. I was as doing an emergency 24 hour long operation and have not had time to check out where it was bleeding. Wouldn't this smoke a tranny if it was operated with low oil, why isn't there a low oil warning? :Banghead

hello out there. new to forums in general. found some useful information on this one so i thought i'd give it a try.
i am looking for some manuals for my loader. bought it at a sale no operators manual no service manual no parts manual. komatsu dealer around here doesnt seem to be inclined to be very helpful. i was hoping some one could direct me where to aquire manuals. free download or otherwise.

CAT 928G Z - block heater?

I have a rental 928G Z loader for snow removal this winter and cannot find any place on it for a block heater.
The Deere's we have all have a port with a threaded plug you remove and install the block heater.

Does anyone know where a block heater goes on a 928G Z or have a picture of what one looks like?

Are most loaders 24volt systems?

I am about to buy a wheeled battery charger for jumping dead batteries in our loaders this winter. We have 2 544j Deere loaders and one 928g z Cat, are these 24 volt systems or just 2 12volt batteries.

The charger I will get can charge or jump a 6/12/18/24 volt system but you will probably have to select which voltage to use.

i read a post on here once that someone put a u shape bend in the suction line of their charge pump and it fixed the problem they had with their machine.which was- all the oil back draining out of the pump thus making it have to prime itself when they started the machine--

the last couple times i started my machine and after a 5 minute warm up at idle. when i put in reverse to back up(low gear-low range)i get no responce even if i goose it--i'd say maybe half throttle-- i tried low forward--same thing-- tried putting it in netural and revving up the motor to prime the pump-(if thats whats going on) still no responce.. next i put it back in forward low and really stepped on it--i'd say 3/4 -throttle and that made the machine kinda try-but then nothing---went to reverse low--revved it up about the same , and it shifted into reverse..from that point on it worked fine. i used the machine for about 20 minutes and shut it down---the oil level is good in the transmission---it was changed out a couple weeks ago-and refilled with 32wt hydraulic oil--and thats because thats what came out of it when the oil was changed.
my machine has a u-shaped pipe on the suction side of the charge pump--to keep oil in the pump (i presume) so i am wondering if i'm getting air in the pump somehow that would let the oil be siphoned out of the pump--or should i be looking at something else that might be the problem?

Michigan 55b coolant problem

Have a early 80's 55b with a cummins 378 v6 just fixed temp sensor and hooked up heater core. So figured will drain coolant and replace it. The temp sits at 140 degrees F. But when I rev the engine it goes to 220 F. But if i let it idle it will come back down .Has new temp sensor so I tried a new gauge same thing. Tried bleeding any air no help. Radiator doesn't seem to be getting hot it stays pretty cool. If i let it run long enough the top will get hot but not the bottom and I think the thermostat is in the bottom hose.? Temp gauge never worked before so not shore if this is a new problem or old I just bought it about a year ago but never really used it. Seems likes a lack of flow either water pump or restriction(possible radiator ). Just not to familiar with this machine. Was going to pull bottom hose off and try and look in and see if blocked. Also heat is not good unless engine is at high idle. Just want to get some ideas

Cat 950F Panel Problem

Hi,


I have a Cat 950F that has a LCD display for the instruments. The panel is bright and fully functioning on startup but it then switches to a dim, nearly unreadable state. The display still works after it has dimmed but it is unreadable with the sun shining on it. I have searched the entire interior for a dimmer switch but had no luck. I would replace it but it is a shame to throw out a working display.

Any help would be much appreciated,

New here and just bought one of these loaders. Any tips to watch out for on it? It is one that still has the 5.9 Cummins which I wanted for ease of service in the future. Loader has 5000 hours and is in very nice shape. Any recomendations on hyd. oil? We generally use Mobil 424 in our farm equipment and didn't know if it would work. How are the transmissions for reliability.

CAT 966D heavy smoke

At work we have 2 identical 966d's they both have 3306's but one of them smokes real heavy when getting on the throttle but will clear up in about 2 seconds and when you let off and hit it again it will smoke heavy but clears up. I just replaced turbo because of this and it did get better because before it would smoke constantly when wide open but only on the last 1/4 of throttle and with no load. So is this a boost problem or possibly pump or gov? There was an improvment with reman turbo but our other one doesn't smoke at all like this and boss thinks they should both run with minimal black smoke. Any ideas where to look?

Hey everybody, had a quick question. We are looking at buying a 79 930 for farm use. It has quick tach, but no third valve. I was wondering how hard it was to add a 3rd valve, and what parts to look for. Thanks
