Hi
i have a volvo l120e from 2006. Sometimes when i shift from reverse to forward i get an error that says shift solenoid error. If i turn the engine off then on again its no problem for a couple of hours.
Any one that have any ideas what i should do? I have been checking the solenoids on right hand side of the machine and the seems to be ok. Is there some how i can test them?
Ive talked to the volvo shop but they didnt kbow anything.
I Think i need to buy a komatsu again :)

Jcb 3c ll?
Hello, been reading your forum for a while now and really enjoy the conversations. I have learned a lot from you guys and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
Anyway, I'm in the market for a skip for my little 16 acres out here in East Texas. I was going to go the AG tractor route, but have seen prices on used industrial equipment on par with new, smaller tractors. For a few grand more, I can get a much more capable machine.
The ones I have had my eye on are the JD 210LE, Case 570MXT and Cat 414E. There's not many to choose from here in Texas and they are rather scarce, for some odd reason. I was looking at ads this morning and ran across a couple of machines Darr Equipment had in their stock. They both are JCB 3C LL models. One has less than 300hrs and the other a little over 1,000hrs. They both are 2006 and look to be in great shape. Around 90 hp if I remember correctly with rear Gannon. Both are 4x4. Price is $21,000.00 for both.
How would you compare the JCB with other Makes mentioned? It seems like an very good deal, but that makes me suspicious. Should I save my money for a JD, Case or Cat, instead?
Thanks to all who reply!

Why this Caterpillar 972H loader is hard to start?
Lack of maintenance is shortening machine life time
Sometimes we wonder what operators do and how they are trained by employer. Recently we inspected a CAT 972H wheel loader. The air filter element was totally sucked with lime powder. The engine was hard to start and running with low performance.

What happens in such case? The engine will get the necessary air somehow. If it is not coming through the air filter element it will come from somewhere else. It may even happen, the air filter element gets deformed until the engine can absorb somewhere secondary air.
The result will be an engine breathing unfiltered air. It may even occur the engine is absorbing then the earlier collected dust from filter element.
Extendend wear in all internal engine components will be the result. Life time of the engine will be reduced dramatically.
MEVAS engineers can help you avoid buying such a machine. We inspect heavy machinery and examine the maintenance status of equipment. We can provide oil sampling, pressure tests and machine performance tests.
MEVAS can train your employes in daily machine maintenance and operation in Europe & Africa.
With our partner Honestinspections we can provide services in the US.

863 Bobcat lift tilt problems
I have a 1998 Bobcat skid loader 863. With the weather getting cold my skid loader is starting to play games with me. One minute it will work fine and the next minute the lift/tilt will not work. I replace the seat bar switch. When I start the machine I hit the buttom and all the light come on on the computer beside the seat but when you move the hand controls and light go out and the little lights on the handle blink. Once you are in the machine and moving it works great, but if you were to get out, next time you get back in it is a hole new ball game of if it works or not. Please HELP! Thanks

Michigan 75A
I am new to the forum and I have recently acquired a 1969 Michigan 75A tractor shovel (loader), Perkins power. I see there have been some good discussions on these machines, but nothing recent, so I know the knowledge is out there. A few questions:
1) does anyone have a service manual? sell???
2)the machine hesitaes about 2-3 sec. before engaging the tranny. Is this normal? I suspect the pressure is low on the charging pump...what is normal? Is the charging pump the same as the converter pump? Because I don't see another pump on the back of the converter, other than the boom and bucket pump, so I figure it must be inside the converter housing.
3) the brake shoes are oil soked from faulty planetary drive seals. Can the brakes be cleaned? How?
4) It had a parking brake mechanism inside the front drums, but all the linkage is missing between the backing plate and the cab. Anyone got this stuff for sale???
5) Where do i get parts? I live in BC.
Any help would be appreciated.

volvo l50b steering problems?
My loader (volvo l50b) just started turning rough when I was unloading some hay tonight. It is a little hard turning and kind of jerky. If you start it turning and let the wheel go it will just keep on turning. It seems the same in either direction. I just got the loader this summer and am not very familiar with it. Does anybody have any ideas on what is wrong? Thanks- 1colt2

Transmission differences between John Deere 444E and 544E wheel loaders
The 544e has a torque converter setup with 4 speed transmission which I am familiar with. I have a JCB 1550B with same basic setup. Press gas pedal to go and you can stop with brake without having to return to neutral. However, I see the 444E has a two speed hydrostat type transmission. Does it act the same way as the torque converter transmission that's in the 544E? Why the two different transmissions? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each. Thanks.

michigan 75b
I've got a 75b Michigan loader that I haven't used in a while and it's looking like it's days are numbered, as I have found a Hough 65c that may be getting its parking spot , we used it around the shop lifting and moving stuff, it started smoking gray pretty bad , like a bad injector, my brother tried to use it 3 or 4 years ago and I think he bent a rod trying to crank it 1 more time, I have another motor [V-504] I let go with it but I don't know anything about it, I bought it off a guy who was carrying it to the scrapyard, if there are any particular parts anyone needs or if you wanted the whole thing , I would rather see someone get some use out of it rather than just hauling it off. Seams as though I am loader poor [Hough 80-b , clark 55c and a fiat-allis 645b] so I need to cull one before I get another. Let me know

1975 Clark Michigan 175B articulated frame wheel loader 8v71 screamer
Hi all, new here, but lurked lots.
I am running a Tovel Forklift 4x4 crabwalk forklift rigid frame, 95hp perkins, 16k machine weight, rated lift is 8k@24"LC, mast is 32'. I need more capacity, more weight, not height, weight!
I can get a 75' Clark 175b wheel loader. I was thinking of ripping off the bucket, putting on a set of 8' 15k fork and running it as a forklift.
Any opinion, ideas, thoughts?
I am stumped as to what it would lift, and can't find much model specif info ont hat machine, as it appears they made many many changes over the years to those machines.
I was looking at 275 clark, circa 60's a few years back, but it was rough, had been hacked and slashed many times, had a 12v71, rigid frame, tires were done, etc etc. The owner wanted too much for it and I passed.
Anyone use a wheel loader for a forklift? How strong are these? Does the machine have enough counter balance? Estimates on the weight it can lift? etc etc? Any ideas would be great.

Push Power Question
I purchased a Samsung SL120-2 wheel loader this past summer for snow removal purposes and I will be honest in that I do not know tons about machines of this size. The machine runs great, shifts into gear with no problems, lifts with ease, but I don't seem to have any push power. I have replaced all filters and done "typical" scheduled maintenance, and I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction to solving this problem?
This machine has a Cummins 5.9L with a Clark trans. I was not crazy about a Samsung brand but I did like the power tran it offered plus the price was good.
Please let me know your thoughts! Proinlinesk8r@aol.com

Michigan 55A fuel pump
Hey guys,
I've been working through some fuel pump items on my old Michigan 55A. I've got a temporary solution, that might be my permanent solution (electric fuel pump), but maybe someone can help with a rebuild kit for the original mechanical fuel pump.
I've got it detailed more here:
http://kustomsbykent.com/heavy-equip...november-2013/
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kent

Liugong 10 t Wheel Loader
Hi
I have a 10t wheel loader, made in China. I was using it yesterday and stopped for a drink break, about 15 minutes. When I got back inside and tried to start it, it behaved as if it had a flat battery. I checked both batteries and they were good, but swapped them for a pair of brand newies.
Anyway, it still behaved like a flat battery, with a click when I turned the key and the all the gauges with power dropping to zero showing current being pulled.
I assumed the starter solenoid must be a bit funny so took it out and tested it with a battery and it worked. I took it down to an auto electrician. He tested it and told me the starter and solenoid are fine.....
This loader has no electronics, just lights, starter motor and aircon fans. All other controls are levers and the like, so there are no obvious electronics that are gone. I assume there is a master relay, so besides that I am at a loss.
Any body experienced anything similar and can offer a suggestion?
cheers

1986 Trojan L 2500 no bucket and no brakes ???
Well I'm confused
Any help would be great. Plenty of Hydro oil, Pump has been replaced less than 100 hrs...5 years ago, filter changed recently, and steering works. Every once and a while after sitting for a few weeks the bucket will not lift and the brake pedals easily push to the floor with no braking effect. I do notice though it takes a few seconds to a minute or so to have the bucket lift when it does work.
The emergency hydraulic lowering valve is in the correct position also. Is there an electric solenoid or spring valve somewhere inline that deflects hydraulic oil from brake assist or bucket hydro?
Thank you for any help

Cat 938 wheel loader tranny issues stuck in first gear
I just bought a cat 938G with 5,000 hours with tranny issues it goes in forward and reverse FIRST GEAR ONLY it won't shift in any other gear and is strong in first.. Any thoughts at all as far as possible issues has anyone dealt with the same issue I'm hoping its not internal trans issues. I was told by an inspector prior to the auction starting that the trans was in working order shifted in all gears... It may be a intermittent issue or maybe something got unplugged by a shady buyer to get a better deal. Anyhow I am stuck with this unit and looking for some good news anything at this point would be very helpful thanks.
