HI everyone ,was looking at buying a Cat 980c,but it has a top end rattle ,maybe the head or just a pushrod .
It apparently still runs ok and doesnt miss a beat ,no engine miss ,the rattle has just happened recently and they say that the Cats were prone to having pushrod problems.?
Can anyone elaborate a little if they know of any issues with the top ends..not sure if it is worth getting into..I need it for a bit of clearing here and there ..

Guys, i have a 1986 terex 72-31BA wheel loader. 471 detroit with a bendix tuflow 500 compressor. Ive been having a problem where it will not build air at idle. Only once the engine is warmed up you have to floor it for a minute and hold in the maxi, and then only will it build air. Ive leak tested the system, replaced the governor, heated the machine in the shop and drained air tanks etc and i CANNOT get this machine to build air from the get go. Any ideas fellas??

We are renting a 950k cat loader. I would like some tips on how to use the features so I can operate more efficiently. I read over the manual and still having a difficult time figuring out how to set the bucket to return to level. It still wants to angle down or not even return at all. Is there a website or other quick reference that will help me understand and apply settings?

Hi All, new to this forum I have a issue with a 1979 Clark 35C wheel loader, when the machine is running the brakes will not release and the brake pedal will not move down it has a lot of pressure on it, if you raise the front tires off the ground the tires will not move if turn off the machine the tires will move. I have taken the brake master valve off and taken it apart replaced the o rings and put it back together and put it back on and I still have the same problem. The machine runs good otherwise. Does any one have any ideas on this problem I would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks.

I have one thats a slow leaker, a 12:00 x 24 on my loader - Is it worth trying to fix the o-ring [soapy water shows it leaking all around there] or just put a tube in? I've done split rims, lock rings, etc, but never an o-ring.

Hey Guys,
So, a customer of mine is looking to run some tests on his pump and he's looking to get all the hoses, fittings and block to test the pressure on it. I'm willing to bet there are better ways to go about this than to buy O.E.M. but thats probably what the guys wants. I think I've figured out what fittings and hoses he needs, but I can't find the "block". I use quotes because I don't know what to call it. In the illustration in the manual, it shows the pressure gauges and hoses connected to a block or manifold or something, but doesn't call out the part number for it. The dealer gave me the part number 11003490, but after looking it up on Prosis, that doesn't quite look like the right part. If any of you have ever serviced a hydrostatic pump on a L-50 wheel loader, please help me out on this. Thanks.
P.S. Heres a link to the illustration I'm talking about

I am looking for any information on where to acquire parts for this loader. I am in south west Michigan. I just bought this machine , listed as "work ready" but after unloading it from the truck it has a bad radiator leak, no third gear, and a blown hydraulic hose the the return side of the bucket cylinder(under the cab).
I bought the unit as a farm loader but it looks as if I must do a lot of work first. Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated....Thanks

Hello everyone, the company I work for just purchased an ex city New Holland LW 110 wheel loader from an auction in town. We have gotten it back in the shop and started repairing the issues the loader had when purchased. Bossman put a new hydraulic pump in the loader and that solved the hydraulic problem, but now we have a indicator on the instrument panel that states "GENERAL WARNING" that flashes along with a beeping. I have looked all over and haven't been able to find any information pertaining to what this alarm is signifying. I understand we have a problem that needs to be addressed, but we don't have any idea as to where to start. If anyone can shed some insight as to what or where this general warning refers to it would be very much appreciated.

The steering will not stop steering to the direction the steering wheel is turned. It doesn't center back up or quit turning after you let go of the steering wheel. Has anyone ever had this issue with a loader?

Hello I am looking at a 2008 Doosan DL200 Wheel Loader and I am looking for feedback on these machines. I currently run Cat and Deere and need to replace my highest hour machine and can't believe the price difference between Doosan, Cat and Deere. I can move up to a 2008 for the price of a 1990. Any thoughts??

Hello. i got a 2007 volvo l90f and it runs but i cannot activate the bucket to move at all. i keep having fuse 42 going out when i turn the ignition on.
fuse 42 does the following;
mode selector, differential lock
fully automatic downshifting
single lever control
gear selector lever carrier
lever steering
boom suspension, activation/function selection
What could be causing this fuse to go out? i checked for lose and bad wires but i could not see anything wrong.
also i cannot get the transmission into 2,3,4th gear it only stays in first. idk if that has anything to do with the fuse aswell. thanks

On this 950H the boom drifts down when the bucket is full at a fast pace, and seems worse when the hydraulic oil is up to full temperature.
To check the lift cylinders I put a block off plate on the lift hose of each cylinder one at a time (cylinders at room temp) and with the engine off and key on put the control lever in the float position. After 20 minutes on each of the cylinders seperately the boom didn't move down more than 1/4 - 1/2 inch so it seems they should be good.
I replaced the anti drift solenoid on the lift valve and the ride control solenoid and it didn't seem to help and I'm getting flustered
Has anyone else had any experience with these 950H's drifting?

The transmission is a 2000 series TT Allison with 2 forward and 1 reverse. It has very little power in first gear and will not go anywhere when shifted into high. I put in a new oil filter with no change in performance and then drained the oil out of the Transmission and found a bunch of little flecks of steel on the screen and in the bottom of the housing. The question is...now what? I talked with a mechanic on the phone and he said it was probably the (spray clutch) ? in the transmission and would have to be taken apart and fixed by a professional. He would not give me a price estimate on the repair depending upon what else might be wrong-which i can understand. My question is Do any of you have an idea as to what I might be getting myself into? The engine already had a bunch of money put into it and it runs great. I would just like to know what it might cost to fix the transmission. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey everybody, new to the forum here. I'm trying to get this 744J running but there's no power and I don't know my way around Deeres at all. I didn't see batteries in the engine compartment--are they locked in the bolted pockets by the rear counterweight? Is there a battery disconnect in the cab perhaps? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

I have three rims that are split on my 02 wa180-3mc, and one drop centre wheel.
I have 4 snow tires that I wanted to mount this fall, however I have one rim that is not a split. I could not take it off.
the tire was too cold and too stiff to get it to come over the edge.. So right now I have the two snow tires on the front and my rock tires on the rear. I thought two and two is better than three and one.
does anyone know of a reasonably priced second hand split rim.
