So both sweepers we have arnt holding up they are down more then they are up. Does anyone know of a extreme duty loader mounted sweeper?
We have two a cat and one from Volvo both are too light for the duty. We are not only sweeping concrete but mud off dirt roads.
Thanks for the help

Another weak 544

I just acquired a 544. Drove it 15 miles home and by the time we got there it barely would climb a hill in low range. The oil pressure is right at the mark at high idle, the oil temp warmed up to right where it should be. If the converter is slipping that much I would expect to see the trany fluid getting hot. It never budged beyond normal. The unit had better speed before the unit warmed up.

At low idle the trany pressure drops down to the black mark on the gauge, again I assume normal. Have not put any gauges on it yet.

I put in low viscosity oil meeting the original C2 spec, but wonder if a slightly heavier oil might have been a better choice.

Ideas fellers?

Wheel bearings on a JD 544

Are the wheel bearings on the axles on the 544 isolated from the axles lube fluid? The parts diagram makes it look that way. Are you greasing the bearings when you put grease into the ends of the axle or just creating a wall of grease to fight against water and dirt intrusion?

Never had one apart so kind of in the dark here.

SKK - Thx

Fiat allis 645B hyd pressure

Guys - anyone know what the hydraulic pressure should be on a Fiat Allis 645B. We built a grapple for it and don't seem to have much clamping force so we got checking and are only getting about 1600psi. This seems low to me but maybe not. If so can we shim the relief valve a little? We don't have a manual for it yet but are going to get one. Thanks in advance.

JCB loaders vs others.

We are looking to upgrade our 15500 hour 544e loader. looking at a size larger like a 938 624 721 ect. I ran across a nice 2005 jcb 436 with low hours. How do they compare with a cat deere and case. Cat komatsu volvo are a lot more expensive but maybe theres a reason for that. our application is farm use, sand and gravel, snow removal, lifting (fork work) and just general stuff you do around a farm. SOOOOOO...... who has ran a jcb and how did you like it and how does it compare to others?

Help identifying skid steer hydraulics

Hi Everybody!

I've just purchased an old German skid steer loader model name : Lanz Zetcat LL 30/2. My problem is, that I can't find much information about this machine on the internet. Since it's pretty old, I'm probably going to need to do at least minor repairs in the future. So I'd like to be prepared in advance.
I made a couple of photos of the hydraulic pumps and I'd be glad if someone could help me identifying the brand and the model number of it. It's leaking quite a bit so I need to order some parts.

Thank you and Happy Holidays for all!

I'm trying to pin point or at least narrow down a few areas to check - my IT24 does not have accessory power in the cab when the key is in the on position and the main switch is on, it starts up fine, and cab power is on when the machine is running. transmission will not engage in forward or reverse, the back up signal sounds when put in reverse but the machine will not move. when gear selector is in the park or neutral position the fuel shut off solenoid chatters off and on. suggestions??

Cat 938K vs Volvo L90G vs. Komatsu WA320-7

Ok wanted to get a new thread going on a specific topic. We have decided to get two sizes of wheel loaders in this next purchase. We are convinced we need some smaller units for broom work as well as our smaller jobs, so much more efficient when you don't need the 966 power, which is a lot of the time to be honest. So we are having Cat quote 2 966K and 6 938K's. Volvo is quoting L90G's and 150H's and Komatsu is quoting WA470-7 and 320-7. I think price is gonna be a big deal here but Cat already has some strikes against them on the bigger loader for bad visibility and lack of steering wheel. I think Komatsu might be most price competitive. That being said in the 938, L90, 320-7 size class what are you guys liking best? How are the new hydro Cats holding up? L90 is a pretty proven machine am I right? I think these loaders will get a majority of the use since the bigger units will come into play on jobs with heavier stuff but most of our jobs a smaller machine will be faster and get stuck less in some of or muddy soils. I think the increased speed of a smaller machine will keep up on stone boxes. This seems to be what we have come to in our testing of various size machines.

I'm having a hard time finding out if the transmission fluid in my trojan 3500z is hydraulic fluid or transmission fluid.. I can't find a service manual anywhere.. I would almost assume it would be transmission because it's a totally different reservoir but I'm not sure.. Any help would be appreciated

966 steers slow to the right

I just bought a 966C that steers slow to the right, works fine to the left but is slow turning to the right. It does not make a diffrence if you rev it faster, doesn't labor the engine, almost seems like the valve is not opening enough. I talked to a couple people, one suggested the snubber valve may be stuck, sounded like a great idea, but this machine does not have one. Looking for ideas on what it could be. I am in the process of changing the fulids, hydraulic oil was milky, most likely water in it. Machine is s/n 76J9076

I was about to buy this loader and have test drove it several times. I was going to buy and drive home (only 3 miles away) so I was playing with brakes trying to see if I could get them to work when it stopped going forward, It drives good in reverse. The owner said this happened couple years ago, and took to a shop and they pulled in and out of the shop a few times just looking at it and it started working. They said it might be the valve sticking. It doesn't get used, he just starts it to keep it running. I drained the trany fluid and checked the screen, It looked good and clean but low. Don't have shop manual for it just a parts manual. Any info on what it might be and were I can find a manual would be appreciated. Thank you

JD 544B Replacement engine

Somebody replaced the engine in our 1979 544B, the numbers do not match up with the original serial #'s that were given to me by JD, the present serial # starts with ME3TB and ends with 174726T, this a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder set up in our loader, JD reps tell me they have no information on this powerplant, even asked me if it was actually a JD, but it's stamped on a JD plate and riveted to the block. If anybody has ANY information on this engine I would appreciate hearing about it. I understand the loader originally came with turbocharged motor but what happened between 1980 and September 2014 is a mystery to me.:Banghead

IT28G Hydraulic problems

$

We are having trouble on our IT28G with the impliment hydraulics. When you let the boom down to the ground it will fall way faster than it should (cycle time of 2 sec when it should be 4 sec) and when it gets to the ground there is a "void/cavitation" in the cylinders. You have to keep the joystick in the down position for quite a bit before the hydraulics will catch back up and lift the front wheels off the ground or go against pressure. Also if you try and roll the bucket forward after it has reached the ground the lift cylinders will drift up until they reach the level of the oil. The tilt functions will do the same thing as well. We have tried a new makeup valve in the down circuit and nothing changed and we have adjusted the line relief valves for the tilt functions. If you run the loader at full throttle the tilt functions will work alright and never create a void/cavitation in the cylinder. The lower function will not do it as bad with the loader running full throttle (one time it might fall really fast (2sec) and the next time it will go down like its supposed to (4sec) that is only at full throttle though) The boom lower and the bucket dump will act the very same way with the engine off. Any help is greatly appreciated! We are stumped on this dude!

Volvo L90E burning oil and lots of it

This lady has only 20K on the clock and suddenly started burning 3 litres of oil per 10 hour day. Changed the oil . I had a spare turbo so I put it on. Made no difference. Did valve seals and valve lash. No change. Removed engine vent pipe from air intake and checked blow by hot , cold , high idle and full load. No oil being blown out and blow down seems normal. Compression on starting is perfect . The engine is a Deutz 6 litre 6 cylinder water cooled unit with individual electronic controlled injection pumps . I can only assume the oil rings are stuck solid or broken even though this machine has only ever worked hard. Is there any oil additive and or fuel additive that might cure or ease the problem? How many hours are these engines good for ? It would be hard to justify a rebuild at the moment as this machine is now only working around 500 hours per year . Owned the machine from 2000 hrs and has always been serviced to schedule with good quality oil.
