WA450-2 Komatsu Wheel Loader

Our company is looking at purchasing some industrial real estate & in the deal is a WA450-2 Komatsu Wheel Loader, Ser # A25499. Can anyone tell me from the Ser # what year the unit is & the bucket capacity for a general purpose bucket. To me it looks like about a 4-yard machine. We are told that the loader has a blown head gasket on it. The machine represents a very small portion of the overall deal but if it all works out we would use it for mat'l handling with forks & snow removal etc..

Thanks, Metalman

Pin on wheel loader bucket wont take grease

$

Hello all

I have a 1.7m3 (3 tonne) bucket on my 10t wheel loader and one of the pins to the bucket will not take grease.

I have tried the following
1) cleaning the inside by taking of the grease nipple, washing it with solvent and connecting air and pressurising to 1000kPa - to try and blow it through
2) heating it up with a heat gun when trying 3 and 4 below
3) undoing the bolts to the pin back and using a 10t ram to push it out - it would not budge
4) trying to knock the pin out with a sledge hammer
5) wiggling the bucket whilst trying to pump in grease

I assume that dirt has got in and blocked the grease path so I thought that blowing it out would be an idea, then I thought take out the pin and clean it.....

Any ideas?

cheers

Forced Regen

I have 6 Volvo L70G loaders with the tier 4 interim engine and I have a lot of issue's with the regen. If my operators don't do everything correctly at times the loader will go into limp mode and I have to get the dealer out to hook a laptop to it to perform a forced regen. Does anyone know how to perform a forced regen without calling Volvo.

loader bucket?

Guys what is the story on this bucket in the pic I have attached. I see them quite often for sewer crews in Canada. On the sewer crews I have worked for here in the states I have not come across this. Also have never seen one in person. Technical name of this style bucket? Are they just home made things? It looks to me like they don't use stone boxes and this allows them to dump right into the excavator bucket. Why would they not use a stone box? Isn't a stone box much quicker and more efficient than waiting for the loader? Just trying to understand the reasoning and efficiencies of these buckets.

Loader overheating

I have a liugong 842 loader. It's similar to a cat 938g. Has a cummins. Started overheating and I traced it to a coolant leak under radiator tray. Pulled radiator and confirmed there is a leak at the bottom of the radiator after putting 10 lb air test on it.

Machine is a 2010. Has 3,800 hrs. Obviously the warranty is 3 year/4,000 hrs so I doubt I can get a free replacement.

Has anyone seen radiators go this new before? Am I better off taking to radiator shop to repair or buy a new one for $1k? It seems like the leak is about 4 inches wide horizontally at the bottom. I don't know how the coils are constructed.

Also now concerned that the hydraulic and tranny coolers may go soon if I don't replace them. What a project to pull the radiator. Don't want to do that again.

Hi all. New to the site. Thanks for allowing me to join the forum. Just wondering, has anyone had any issues with a 930G Cat loader stalling out when using two bucket functions at the same time? Usually bucket tilt down and booming up or down at the same time.

Can a Cat 938F lift a 40ft dry container?

Weight seems to be not a problem. Container empty weighs 7000lbs. Cat938F is according to ritchiespecs Bucket BREAKOUT FORCE 28325.9 lb STATIC TIPPING WEIGHT 25229.7 lb

Clearance will be an issue, meaning I probably need to hold the container a little farther out from the front of the machine thus decreasing my tipping load weight.

How much extra weight do you think I could put in it?

cat 416c 4 wheel drive prob

Hi, I have a cat 416c. When the 4 wheel drive is engaged it works momentarily then it blows the fuse for the 4 wheel drive and the clutches, makes a clunk sound then the 4 wheel drive disengages. I'm assuming the sound is from the solenoid when it loses power and the front axle disengages. My manuals for this machine recently burned in a fire (along with my shop, office and all my tools) so i could use a little help. I will look for a bad wire but, could a faulty solenoid be shorting out and blowing the fuse and how do I test to see if it is faulty. I'm guessing it is located underneath on the transfer case but, an exact location would be useful. Also is there anything else that could be causing this problem. All the clutches work fine until the 4 wheel drive is engaged.

Thanks for any help.

Case W20C lifting capacity question

hello everyone, got a question about my 1985 Case W20C wheel loader. Love the old machine, owned it since 2004, installed new 504bd engine and haven't had problems since.
I recently purchased a surplus military trailer, and am having it transported from Maryland to my place in Oklahoma. Trying to decide whether to build a ramp(dock) to unload the trailer when it arrives or just lift it off the flatbed trailer with the loader.

Trailer is a Stewart/Stevenson M1082a1 and weighs 7310 lbs.

I looked up a brochure on the Case website and found some specs. My W20C has a cab, rear counterweights, 2.5 cubic yd. bucket, and fenders. I have added backup rippers, so I figure I can subtract 300-400 lbs. lifting capacity.

Here is a link to the Case brochure:

http://www.casece.com/en_us/Gallery/...-26-2009_3.pdf

It states operating load is 7617, rated load is 6800 lbs. , SAE tipping load is 17,128 lbs.

I would like some opinions on whether you think my loader will pick the trailer off of a 5 foot tall flatbed safely, or not. I have considerable experience with this machine, and full faith in it. I have lifted heavier things with it than 7400 lbs. but never weighed them. Please let me know what you think.

Tranny oil

My service manual says I should run 15 w 40 oil for the torque convertor. Is this normal? I thought you should run Dextron or ATF oil? It's a liugong 842. Like a 938g cat.

fuel oil dilution

i have a 73 jd 544a loader. i have used it during the summer around the shop no problems. in the winter i use it for snow removal. my question is, is it possible that over cranking the engine to start it when the temps are below 15 deg without using the hot shot can cause f/o dilution of the crankcase? or should the hot shot can be used always when starting in cold weather? somehow i got a crankcase full of diesel fuel mixed with the oil. since the fuel system is external i dont see how else the fuel would get in there other than injector drip. but i have noticed the guys just cranking and cranking it without using the start aide. any input would be appreciated.
