Visibility isn't great but I bet its strong enough!! Brakes are still smushy, but that's a weak pilot/brake pump. Next goal is to rebore the lower center pin.

On the loader operator they are too brake master cylinders that are on the right side looks like they have breather filters and fluid is leaking out of them brake fluid. Does this mean both brake boosters are bad?

Ether or no ether. 644E
so the 644E has an ether start button but it looks like its fallen into disrepair. the instructions say crank for 1 second, pause, gas it and crank it again. It seems to start with a little protesting at 30 degrees but starts in 4 seconds and picks up all cylinders after about 10 seconds. We generally know what days we'll be using it and there is a block heater, we could put that on a timer. I know ether abuse is mighty harmful, I'd probably put in a second outlet in the back of the building and add a trickle charger along with the block heater, keep the batteries nice and ready to help save the starter.
On the engine I see the hose and wires for the ether start but that's about it! No can, no valve.
Any thoughts?

First post, thanks in advance! Deere 544B radiator help
New guy here, who has a ton to learn! I have acquired an old 1979 or 80 (I think) Deere 544B loader that has extensively rebuilt 5 years ago and not used or even run since. My buddy was the machinists who did the work so I know everything he did and know it was done right. I put a new battery in it and it fired up first time and runs awesome except for a bad hydraulic hose, a few bad gauges, a mouse condo in the seat and a radiator that is leaking from 4 places.
I can fix the hose but I haven't been able to find a replacement radiator yet. Where should I look? I've checked with a few on line retailers who told me good luck. Is it worth it or even possible to have it re-cored/ repaired? Is there a radiator from a different machine that would work? I can fabricate to make a new mount for one that might work.
Also I think I have found some of the gauges online but I'm not sure they are exact, is it possible to buy a whole dash from someone parting out an old one?
Thanks for any advise!

Wa450-3 parking brake issues
So, this last week I was running my 450, using it to load a manure spreader. I'm a one man show right now, so I would load the spreader, then shut off the loader. It would typically take me 12-14 minutes to spread a load. When I fire up the loader again, I'm having difficulty getting the parking brake to disengage. If I flip the parking brake switch, it takes about 4:00 minutes for it to release. If I toggle the switch, then rev up the engine, it will go off much sooner. But it seems as though the warmer the machine gets, the higher the revs it takes. On a cold start, the parking brake will almost immediately disengage.
In the past 20ish hrs I changed the transmission fluid, and filter, and had the pilot cleaned too.
I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this.
Thanks, CJ

972k blown EGR
972k s/n 0972KHZ4W00657 last monday plastic coolant tank sprung a leak in the top got it replaced found a recall had to wait two days on it from cat. we replaced filled with coolant cranked engine started leaking fluid at exhaust manifold joint's and smoking. called cat sent parts replacer out he said it was bad turbo we ? him he started arguing with us and I explained to to him that he had already screwed up my transmission two years ago because he did not care so I sent him packing. Got another cat mechanic (this one has a brain) as soon as he got out of the truck he knows what the problem is (not turbo) blown EGR cooler said that any time you have a blown hose or low water when you fill it back up that there is a procedure to get the air out of the EGR even with the small hose coming out the top going into the top of the coolant tank is this correct there was not any warning paper's or installation instruction's in the box with tank . dealer did not have EGR parts still waiting tomorrow will be a week down 9,200hrs less than 3 year's old

Split the deere!
so the lower pivot pin is fubar! has nearly an inch of fore/aft play between the loader frame and the pivot. The pin itself through the engine frame looks pretty tight overall. The upper pin seems to have no visible play at all.
I'm guessing it'll take about two hours work to split the machine with four or five hours of screwing around and getting things just right. We'll be working with the engine frame supported on three piers to make for easy adjustments if needed. The loader frame will have the bucket attached, chained and secured so it can't drift and will be on a couple 2x10 planks to let it slide fore/aft and we should be able to move it with the Kubota as long as everything is neutral.
usadrivemotors on ebay sells a 60 piece o-ring flat face plug/cap kit that'll be handy for buttoning up all the hydraulics, less than a buck each.
Driveshaft should be easy as well, and while its apart, get one steering piston a nice new chrome shaft and pull the pilot pump for a look see. Will also
yank out the accumulators and see how they look inside. Can a regular hydraulic shop recharge them?
If it becomes impossible to get it back together, we can have the rental compay drop off a big volvo excavator.
Any tips and pointers? Gotchas? Life ending experiences?

Installed new Hyd. Pump, hydraulics have been drifting ever since...?
The hydraulic pump on our 980G recently went bad, so we replaced it with a new pump straight from our Cat dealer. As soon as it was installed both the tilt and lift have been drifting quite noticeably. Before the old pump went bad, this loader had no cylinder drift at all. We have looked into the main control valve, ride control accumulator, now they are thinking of re packing the cylinders. Is there anything else we could try?

Michigan 55B questions?
Hi guys, New member here!
I picked up myself an Michigan 55B loader a while back and have a few questions.
Pretty sure it's an 1977 model going by the serial #
V378 Cummins.
First off everything seems to work pretty good except the transmission.
Reverse gears seem to grab better than forward gears.
All 3 speeds work both directions but 3rd is almost as if it's non existent for a minute or two when cold, it's better warm.
Reverse 3rd seems to grab sooner.
Fluid is a mixture of 10wt and Dexron atf.
It is full and the drain screen was spotless when I checked it.
Also 1st and 2nd fwd don't seem to "grab" like in reverse.
It still spins the tires and with it locked down the drive shaft from converter to transmission doesn't turn unless the tires spin.
Is there a regulator or such what could cause the forward to reverse differences? Clutch plates worn?
Also the loader sat for a few years before I purchased it.
There was many mud dobber nested all over, on holes under hood you name it!
Where is the crankcase vent?
I can't seem to find it and have been using a race car breather in place of the fill cap.
Thanks in advance anyone who has some insight on my issues!

I need a little help figuring out where to check the transmission fluid level? It also has 2 levers on the steering column, one works forward and reverse and the other simply flops back and forth and is not currently working anything. What is it suppose to work? There is a lever on the lower dash right of the steering wheel that was unhooked from the lower lever on the transmission. I have reattached it. Is that high and low or what? Thanks for any information you can give.

Repacked both steering cylinders do to leaking. Steering is still very tight and slow. Have to bring the rpms up high and move the steering wheel slowly for it to fill like it has power assist. Any ideas on the proper way to check this problem out? Thanks for the help.

Clark Michigan 175C Loader Only moving in reverse
I am trying to get this thing operating after sitting for several years. I don't have any history/info on the machine. Engine is running and moving in reverse but I have no forward. I have read that there is a declutch valve on top of the torque converter that only affects forward and it appears to have been replaced recently. Also I dont seem to be building any air pressure obviously due to a leak I have yet to find. If anyone had advise or a link to a service manual it would be much appreciated.

John Deere 444c hard steering
Hello, I'm working on a John Deere 444c. The machine is very hard and slow to steer both directions. The wheel turns hard, and the machine very slowly turns, like its trying to catch up to how far I turned the wheel. I have plenty of pressure from the steering pump on the front of the engine, both steering cylinders have been recently replaced. I have a manual for a 544b I've been flipping through, but I haven't found anything that seems to help me. I have a limited knowledge on steering systems on loaders. I'm wondering if the system is air bound from when the cylinders were replaced. I see a bleeding procedure in the 544 manual but the pictures it shows don't quite match up to what I have on my 444. Does anyone know the correct way to bleed the steering system on this machine? Thanks for any help you can offer

Grease Zerks
Hi there, I am wondering if you guys could take this short survey about grease zerks. I am working on my high school engineering project and need some statistics and research. The survey deals with grease zerk and pivot point problems. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could take this. Thanks for your time.

Also radio in cab is intermittently not working (currently not). I would definitely appreciate a wiring diagram if possible. Thanks
